Professional Expertise
Coronavirus
I began tracking the spread of coronavirus and calculated a projected trajectory of the spread and deaths that would occur from little to no social distancing or preventative procedures. Since then I have written dozens of articles that relate to Covid-19 including my projections.
Profiles & Interviews
These long-form pieces explore a select artist's work and their philosophy from a variety of perspectives, examining their craft and creative mindset, as seen in this interview with Dr. Alexandra Solomon, author of Loving Bravely
Event Criticism
My experience with event criticism began during my internship at WLRN. I was tasked to seek out art events in our community to write up and advertise during commercial bits. I began to understand how important gatherings are for a community to only flourish but also as a reflection of its inhabitants. This spans to the businesses that are in it. Informing the public to keep up these imperative social interactions is what keeps them going.
Social Criticism
Our society affects the way that our world operates and that starts within our very own community and expands outwards. These essays focus on our current social issues along with how our culture interacts with them.
Food Criticism
I can recall my first years of college, where I would fashion meals paired with wines and cocktails and was often referred to as the 'mother' of my friends. For me food is more than taste, it's the experience of not only those who consume the flavors but the chefs and bartenders who perfect them. I bring this idea with me into my experience and articles of restaurants from my review of
Sratlite BBQ to my interview with Jean Banchet Winner Benjamin Schiller
