The jury has been out since 1979, but they have finally came in with the verdict; disco is back and is now a hit in River North Chicago. Perched above downtown Chicago, on the third story of the club Celeste, DISCO has profoundly come back to life. Inside you’ll sincerely be enticed to“feel The Funk” with a wall to wall LED light up dance floor, whose lights generate an array of color. Of course there are also giant disco balls, costumed retro wall decor, mirrored ceilings, acrylic furniture, shag rugs and furry sofas to take a break on after you are spent from all that grinding. Be aware though, getting in without this guide can be a bit comparable to Studio 54.

DISCO offers a swank re-creation of the 1970’s discotheque era with global prestige from New York, Paris and Rome. Inside, the atmosphere exudes allurement, style, sexiness and character with its mix of contemporary and vintage interior design. DISCO was conceptualized and designed by the Bonhomme Hospitality Group, which also includes Celeste, Black Bull, Bordel, and Fulton Market Kitchen.

The bar offers a full size liquor selection, twenty-five types of champagne, $13 cocktails, a $400 dollar bottle service and everyones favorite late-night muncie; pizza. The beverage team is lead by Brendon Diaz and is definitely a large shuffle away from the coarse Long Island Iced Teas or traditional Grasshoppers of the 1970’s. While they spiced up their cocktails, they also took inspiration from the 70’s time period and with a bit of tropical influence, every drink is classed up with a small, chic garnish. We’ve put together a light list of their grooviest selection to soothe your disco fever.

Banana-Groni: Who would have thought that bananas and gin would go together, but inside of DISCO, the Banana-Groni proves it. Banana infused gin, aperitif wine, bitters, Falernum and is topped off with a dried slice of banana, make up this rich refreshment.

Trophy Wife: While this twist on a margarita doesn’t come with the price tag of a Luis Vuitton, it does taste like you could can own one. It is fused with tequila, pear brandy, Campari, raspberry syrup, lime juice and a dehydrated lime wheel to garnish.

Pornstar Frozen Martini: A bit larger than their traditional house cocktails, this drink is also a take-home souvenir. The Pornstar Frozen Martini is served in a large cup shaped like a mini disco ball and has an actual kick to it. Inside you’ll discover a concoction of vodka, cuvée, passion fruit puree, vanilla syrup, lime juice and a shot of bubbly.

Boogying all night to the best remix is absolutely possible with a rotation of high-profile DJ’s playing a variety of music. Their play list extends from Funk, Soul, Latin, house and re-mixes of everything from ABBA to Blondie.

Entering DISCO can be complicated if you don’t know what you’re doing, which is why we’ve got the low down on how to get in. First off, there is a separate line from the entrance to Celeste. We also recommend dressing the part, age not apply, only sense of fashion, or a few extra bucks to grease the doorman with the magical entry stamp. Be aware that the party really gets heated around midnight. Also, look out for a few fellow patrons that may make you consider you are in the actual Studio 54, expecting the famous entrance of a white horse, adorned by Bianca Jagger floating in. Just be careful, you might have such a fabulous night that you end it muttering the phrase "Disco made me do it”.
