Elon Musk has been showing us some bizarre faces, some that have him being accused of taking hallucinogens in isolation and more so, many that worry shareholders and pretty much all Americans. From his “Free America” Twitter rants to being faced off by non-other than Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He's been on a downward spiral during quarantine but that may be because something very strange happened, and it involves pregnant girlfriend and singer, Grimes, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. What had happened was: Johnny Depp accused his divorcee, Amber Heard of cheating on him with SpaceX's CEO and late-March. Depp released images of Heard and Musk cuddling in a private elevator at Depp’s penthouse back in 2016, before he announced his relationship with Grimes in 2018. However, that weekend Musk decided to unfollow his pregnant girlfriend on Twitter, post her release of a cryptic message. Although, it apparently isn’t the first time Musk unfollowed her, but in the last few weeks he's yet to follow her again even though she still follows him. Grimes apparently lost a very close friend in March and looks to be separated from Musk during her and his quarantine.
Since then Musk, who is already very active on Twitter (it's where he first met Grimes), released a rocket fire storm of tweets, ranging in all different categories: from discouraging social distancing to blasting California hospitals for allegedly misreporting coronavirus cases, to promoting SpaceX and then a tweet Friday morning that made investors loose money, lots of money. He simply wrote “Tesla stock price too high imo”. With that, the stock value plunged and quickly replies came in from investors saying “what is wrong with you?”, adding the value of their stock that was lost, from the hundreds to tens of thousands and most say was it was cut in half. Reports say Tesla’s stock dropped by as much as 12% and Matchmarket reports that say they've lost billions. He also previously posted a tweet that stated that he could be selling “all physical possessions” and since his tweet Friday morning, the firestorm hasn't stopped.
SpaceX's stocks were on the rise as they were selling off 1.1 million stocks, trying to raise money to build a fully reusable spaceship, the Starship. Just days before SpaceX reported a strong quarter, sending shares higher. Tesla stock was trading at 760.23 just before Musk tweeted and then fell to a session low of 717.64, This isn’t the first time that Musk’s tweets or public comments have backfired against him and his company, he was even nearly removed as CEO and after tweets that had previously hindered the company and an on air joint session. He entered a legal agreement that required him to submit his public statements about Tesla to vetting by his legal counsel. This was after he tweeted that he was going to take 'Tesla’s stock private at $420 per share'. Many wondered if it was a reckless joke about national marijuana smoking day, 4/20, however he followed it up by saying he hoped all investors would stay with the company if they went private, bringing legitimacy to his previous tweet.

So one is left to wonder, what is going on with Mr. Musk? Has he reached his breaking point after a breakup? Maybe that matched with quarantine has him spiraling in disarray? It's really hard to tell, and with his previous rocky behavior this could be enough to have him removed as CEO, especially if he doesn't rebound soon.
