On Tuesday the president addressed Arizonans in Phoenix at the Dream City Church, mainly addressing 18-25 year olds, many of whom are entering the job force for the first time. Nearly every single seat was filled within the church that seats 3,000. It seemed that Trump was on a good pathway of speaking about equal opportunities for people of all colors and diversity, stating that “a person is not judged on their skin color but on their character” and the crowd cheered as the camera focused on the sole black man in the room who clapped in agreement.
The president spewed a number of false claims to the crowd about what his presidency has accomplished while he was in office. Some of them, being that young people saw an increase of 10% in their income, which is a complete false claim. The Real Wage growth when Trump took office in 2016 was 1.3%, then fell in 2017 to 0.4%, and 2018 took it up to 0.6%, and was 1.3% in 2019. So the actual wage growth under the Trump presidency is null. Meaning that the increase in wages nationwide has not increased and considering that minimum wage wasn’t increased since 2009.
The president also condemned mail-in ballots, while admiring that “absentee ballots are fine”, while he gave example of how he’ll be mailing in his ballot from the White House in D.C. to Florida and defending the fact that the president sent in an absentee ballot in May 2020 during the preliminaries. Also, negating the fact that Florida doesn’t have absentee voting, anyone can register to vote-by-mail and his own press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, has voted-by-mail by the state of Florida 11 times since the 2010 elections according to Tampa Bay Times. The president stated Tuesday;
“How will they be delivered? Who’s getting them?” and “How will they be mailed?”, along with “will the mailmen and mail women steal them?”
He also stated that this election would be “the most corrupt election in US history”, before the primary electoral process has even began and the fact that there has been no fraudulent voting within the current voting process.
He went on to suggest that mail-in ballots could perhaps be counterfeited by adding;
“Will they be counterfeited by other countries? Will they be counterfeited by groups within our nation?”
Which is almost a warning for future claims that “ANTIFA” may be counterfeiting ballots, a belief that has no organized group.
The truth of the matter is that anyone could potentially “steal” or “fill in” someone else’s ballot, but to say that one party is going to do that without any proof would lead one to believe that any party or country could do so without a “left bias” and could even be right-wing supporters who falsify ballots.
The president also touted the recent readers to the already implemented law that had already been passed, the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act, but followed it up with “lock ‘em up”, an already popular term that was used during the 2016 election in regard to Hilary Clinton and her emails.
"We passed VA Choice and VA accountability, they've been trying for 50 years", the president lied, congress passed the Veterans Access Choice and Accountability Act in 2014 with Obama's administration, and signed by Obama.
"We sparked a revolution in domestic energy production and the United States is now the #1 producer of oil and natural gas, anywhere on planet earth," a fact that is true, however, this was another Obama administration victory.
