Everyone loves a good cake ball, so when I was planning my Halloween party I knew I had to make some for a desert option. Originally I was going to put them on a stick, but I didn't have time to freeze mine and after a large mess and three destroyed and eaten cake balls, I knew I had to implement a new plan. So I opted to pour the frosting over them and had extra sugar eyes so I popped those on and voila! BOO balls were created!

These guys are so much fun to make! Try and grab a baking partner and you guys can ooOooo and booOoo at these cute little ghastly confection balls.

HINT! Substitute cake mix and candy melt flavors for a different taste!

Grocery List

1. 1 box white cake mix

2. eggs, oil, water, whatever the cake mix box calls for

3. 1 cup and 2 tbsp canned frosting (I used all vanilla ingredients for the white cake balls)

4. 1lb candy melts (I used Ghirardelli)

5. Candy eyes (I found mine at Target)

Recipe

1. Prepare cake mix as the box directs, cook in 9x13 pan you have or as directed.

2. Let the cake completely cool, then crumble into a large bowl with your hands (if you want to get silly gooey), spoon or mix with a kitchen mixer.

3. Stir in 1 cup frosting and continue mixing until doughy, if you need to add the extra frosting do so at 1 tbsp at a time.

4. Roll 1 tbsp of dough into balls, place on a parchment sheet and chill for at least 1 hour.

5. Melt the candy melts in a bowl in the microwave on 30 second intervals, making sure to mix.

6. Use a folk or if they fall apart, just use your fingers to grip each ball and dip in the melted candy melts, tap against the bowl if you need to remove any excess.

7. Let them cool for a minute or so, not all the way so that the candy melts harden all the way, and them add the candied eyes, plate and ENJOY! XX
